Living the good life

Living the good life isn't always about having the best,biggest and newest things.

It isn't about having lots of money.

I believe it's about how and with whom you spend your time.

It's about being there to watch your younger sisters get their ears pierced for the first time.

It's having movie nights with your mum and feeling like you spent the night with your best friend.

These are the things that create not just a good life but a great and blessed life !!

But as my 21st birthday recently passed this post really struck me.

So I decided I was going to write my list of 30 before 30

Here is a few things on my list;
Vist Disney world
Learn a new language
Learn to Play piano
Ride a horse
Learn sign language

Societal pressures

Tuesday night, my mum,sisters and I are sitting around, my littlest sister ,who is only 7, turned around and asked my mum to turn of 'Ben and Holly's little kingdom' and put on something else so when my parents friends showed up with their kids, they wouldn't know she was watching "baby shows" .

It left me speechless. I see how the media and society affect young people and adults, but to see it affect a 7 year old, it hurt.

How do children that young get these ideas, I always let all my family and friends know they are just who they should be, they are loved as they are and if someone doesn't like it screw them!

I hate that my sister feels like she has to hide what she loves because of what others might say!
